The factory behind the guides

What “vertically integrated” actually means here

The phrase is used loosely across the industry, so here is the concrete version. Most activewear suppliers buy finished fabric from a mill, cut and sew it, and outsource printing and finishing. We do the step before that: the fabric is knitted on our own circular machines, in the structure and density your garment needs, from yarn we specify. That single difference is why the guides on this site can quote needle counts, yarn deniers and GSM floors — those are our machine settings, not a broker's spec sheet.

Practically, in-house control means four things you can hold us to: the fabric spec is ours to change (not a mill's take-it-or-leave-it), chemical inputs are ours to control (which is how OEKO-TEX limits are met rather than hoped for), lead times don't wait on a third party's queue, and when something fails QC we know which machine and which shift produced it.

Our circular seamless knitting hall — the machines that knit each garment as a single tube.

The numbers we publish (and where they come from)

Most factory websites publish adjectives. We publish data pulled from our own live catalogue and production floor, and we say which is which:

Where we quote an industry standard rather than our own measurement — ASTM growth limits, ISO pilling grades, AQL levels — we label it as such on the page. We would rather lose an argument than blur that line.

Certifications and compliance

Two layers, and it matters which is which. At facility level we work under BSCI social audit and ISO 9001 quality management. At material level, GRS (recycled-content chain of custody) and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 (harmful-substance limits, next-to-skin Class II for our default fabrics) certificates are held by the yarn and fabric suppliers we buy from, and we supply copies covering your order. Certificates are issued to a facility or to specific fabrics and lots — never to a brand in the abstract — so the honest way to use them is per order: ask us for the certificate covering your programme, then verify the number with the issuing body — OEKO-TEX runs a public label check, and GRS scope certificates are issued by accredited bodies you can contact. A supplier who quotes a standard but cannot produce a checkable number is quoting a word, not a certificate. Our full guide to what each one covers is in factory certifications explained.

Final QC and packing — every order is inspected to AQL before it ships.

Who runs it

Allen Cai founded Yesseam and has spent 12 years in seamless manufacturing in Xiamen — circular knitting, fabric development and factory operations. He reviews the technical guides published on this site, which is why they read like machine notes rather than marketing: the GSM floors, the needle-count trade-offs and the honest limits (“a tube will not become a bell”) come from the floor, not from a content brief. Our sales and QC teams write the buyer-facing guides; every article carries its author and reviewer by name.

How to verify everything on this page

We would rather be checked than believed. Four things you can do before sending money — to us or to anyone else:

What we are not

We knit seamless. That means there are jobs we are the wrong factory for, and saying so is cheaper for everyone than discovering it at sampling: below roughly 50 pcs per style, garments needing precise panel colour-blocking, and heavy woven outerwear are all faster and cheaper cut-and-sew work elsewhere. We will tell you when that is the case. We are also a single factory, not a group — no second plant, no sister brand selling the same styles under another name, no reseller network. What you see on this site is what runs under this roof.

FAQ

Is Yesseam a real factory or a trading company?

Yesseam is a manufacturer. The legal entity is Xiamen Yesseam Garment Co., Ltd. (厦门焱森服饰有限公司), founded in 2014 in Xiamen, Fujian, China. Circular seamless knitting, cut-and-sew, dye-sublimation, finishing and QC all run in-house — which is why we can publish machine-level detail, factory footage and our own QC thresholds rather than relaying a supplier's claims. You can verify this: ask for a live video walk-through of the floor, request the business licence name, and check any certificate number with its issuer.

How can I verify Yesseam before placing an order?

Four checks, all of which we support: (1) ask for the business licence and match the legal name Xiamen Yesseam Garment Co., Ltd.; (2) request the OEKO-TEX Standard 100, GRS or BSCI certificate covering your order and verify the number in the issuer's public database; (3) book a live video factory tour — unscripted, your questions, our floor; (4) order a sample first (7–10 days) and run the physical checks yourself. A supplier that resists any of these four is telling you something.

What does Yesseam actually manufacture?

Seamless activewear and yoga apparel: leggings, sports bras, bralettes, two-piece sets, shorts, tennis and golf styles, swimwear, menswear and jumpsuits. Production is circular seamless knitting for next-to-skin styles, with cut-and-sew lines for structured or hybrid garments. Our live catalogue holds 3,038 styles, of which 300 are ready-to-brand stock styles published on this site.

What are Yesseam's minimums and lead times?

Stock styles start at 50 pcs per style plain (no logo) and 100 pcs with your logo; full custom development starts at 500 pcs per style. First sample takes 7–10 days; bulk production runs 30 days standard or 15 days rush. Free swatch packs ship within 48 hours of request.

Want to check us the hard way?

Ask for the business licence, a certificate number and a live floor tour — we will send all three, plus a free swatch pack within 48 hours.
